At Mattias Residence, we provide a safe and caring home for individuals facing developmental, behavioural, or mental health challenges. Our dedicated team works closely with each resident, offering personalized support for mood disorders, ADHD/ASD, trauma, substance use, self-harm behaviours, and other co-occurring needs.
We help residents build skills, confidence, and independence, while fostering resilience, hope, and a sense of belonging.

Respite Program for Adults (18+)
Our Respite Program for adults aged 18 and over provides short-term, supportive housing for individuals living with psychological, psychiatric, emotional, social, and/or physical disabilities. We offer a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment where residents can have a voice in their daily routines while engaging in meaningful activities designed to build essential life skills.
Even within a respite setting, we prioritize fun, creativity, and personal growth. At Mattias Residence, we are committed to enhancing the quality of life for those in our care, offering engaging programming opportunities that foster interpersonal skills, independence, and social connection all while ensuring strong support is available every step of the way.

Semi-Independent Youth Program
The Semi-Independent Youth Program at Mattias Residence for Youth supports young adults, 18 years and older, in their transition toward independent living. This program is designed for individuals who demonstrate the potential for self-sufficiency but require structured guidance to develop the skills necessary for independent living.
Program Description:
- Participants work closely with trained staff to build essential life skills, including interpersonal communication, employment readiness, financial management, and problem-solving strategies.
- Individualized coaching and emotional support are provided to foster resilience, confidence, and self-awareness.
- Residents gradually assume greater responsibility for daily living tasks while still having access to guidance as needed.
Program Goals and Outcomes:
- Skill Development: Residents gain practical skills for independent living, including budgeting, meal preparation, and time management.
- Employment and Education: Support is provided to enhance job readiness, explore educational opportunities, and maintain meaningful engagement in work or school.
- Social and Emotional Growth: Residents develop coping strategies, healthy relationships, and communication skills to navigate challenges successfully.
- Safety and Well-Being: The program ensures a structured, supervised environment where residents can practice independence while maintaining personal safety.

FAMILY FOCUS
At Mattias Residence for Children and Youth, we believe every child thrives when connected to their family. Our goal is to support children and youth in healing, strengthening family bonds, and whenever possible, safely returning home.
We involve families in daily decisions, programs, and activities, ensuring their voice is part of the child’s growth. Our dedicated team addresses challenges such as mental health, behavioral concerns, and addictions, providing guidance and strategies that foster lasting positive change.
