Mattias Residence for youth is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where children, youth and/or adults with a developmental delay, addictions, mental health, and behavioral challenges are encouraged to explore and discover their full potential within a nurturing homelike setting.

Our Service Principles
Mattias Residence for Youth, provides services to children, youth and adult a programming that ensures quality measures are implemented and that employees are working as a team to stay up to date and informed of the evolving needs of everyone in their care. It is an innovative long-term housing solution, geared towards low to high functioning individuals with developmental delay, mental health related issues and/or dually diagnosed.

Depressive & Bi-Polar
Mattias staff provide daily support and ensure a safe living environment.
Our staff implement and Supervise daily activities, administer medications, and offer immediate support during emotional crises. We will promote physical activity as a means to improve mental health. Organize daily exercise routines, including yoga, sports, and outdoor activities.
Our home provides nutritional education and meal planning to ensure a balanced diet that supports mental well-being.
Self-Harm Behaviors
Our staff are equipped with skills to handle self-harm incidents safely and effectively. All staff possess genuine care and concern for the well-being of the youth. They pay fully attention to the youth, understanding the youth’s concerns, and responding thoughtfully. The staff are skills in conveying information and instructions clearly and calmly, especially during crises. Training updates on self-harm, trauma-informed care, and related topics. The staff are equipped with specific skills and qualities to effectively address this issue
Trauma and PTSD
The Youth Trauma Support Specialist at Mattias Residence provides comprehensive care and support to young residents experiencing trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). This role focuses on implementing trauma-informed care principles, facilitating therapeutic interventions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to promote healing and recovery for youth. The specialist must exhibit a high level of empathy, patience, and expertise in trauma care tailored to younger individuals. Our staff at Mattias possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification crisis (CPI) intervention ; and holds relevant mental health.
Anxiety Disorders
The Mental Health Support Staff at Mattias Residence provides compassionate and professional care to residents with anxiety disorders. They ensure the safety and well-being of residents while assisting in therapeutic activities and daily living tasks. This role includes a high level of empathy, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Provide one-on-one support and crisis intervention as needed, using de-escalation techniques to manage acute anxiety episodes.
Monitor and document resident behavior, mood, and responses to treatment interventions.
Encourage and facilitate participation in therapeutic activities and group sessions designed to manage anxiety.
Illicit substance use
Mattias will Regularly monitor behavior and environment for signs of substance use. Developing and implementing individualized safety plans to address and mitigate risks. Reducing access to substances and other risk factors within the group home environment. ADHD / ASD
The Behavioral Support Staff at Mattias Residence provides specialized care and support to residents diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role involves implementing individualized care plans, facilitating therapeutic activities, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the quality of life for residents. The staff member are exhibit patience, understanding, and expertise in behavioral management techniques. Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration. Implement behavior management strategies and individualized care plans to address specific needs and goals of residents with ADHD and ASD. Monitor and document resident behavior, mood, and progress, ensuring accurate and detailed records are maintained. Provide one-on-one support during challenging situations, using de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement to manage behaviors.
